AJAF – Volume 9, Issue 1

On behalf of the Editorial Board of the ADSU Journal of Accounting and Finance (AJAF), it is with great pleasure that I welcome readers to Volume 9, Issue 1 of our journal. This issue marks another milestone in our continuous effort to provide a credible platform for scholarly discourse, empirical research, and critical reflections in the fields of accounting, finance, and related disciplines.

The contributions in this edition reflect both theoretical and practical insights, addressing contemporary issues of significance to academics, policymakers, regulators, and practitioners. The articles cover diverse themes ranging from financial reporting quality, corporate governance, audit practices, banking sector performance, taxation, public sector accountability, sustainability, and the evolving role of digital innovations in financial systems.

What unites these contributions is their focus on advancing knowledge that not only deepens academic inquiry but also informs practice and policy across African economies and beyond. At a time when global and regional economies face challenges of transparency, accountability, financial resilience, and technological disruption, the relevance of research in accounting and finance cannot be overstated.

As always, the Editorial Board remains committed to upholding rigorous standards of peer review and editorial quality. We extend our gratitude to the authors for their contributions, to the reviewers for their dedication, and to the readership for their continued engagement with AJAF.

We invite scholars, researchers, and practitioners to draw insights from the works published in this issue and to join us in future editions as we continue to promote innovative research that advances accounting and finance scholarship in Africa.
